As a result of a subscriber vote held on May 6, 2021, we are pleased to announce that your Heritage RESP has been transferred to a Knowledge First Family Single Student Educations Savings Plan, effective March 1, 2022!
By transferring to an individual RESP, like the Family Single Student Plan, you have gained more flexibility and control over your education savings than ever before, preparing you and your student for whatever the future holds.
To carry out the proposed plan changes, a majority of votes cast in favour of the transfer by Group Plan and SDO customers was required. Overall, 70.70% and 95.63% of Heritage Group and Self-Determined plan holders that voted were in favour of the change.
Individual RESP Plans are better able to meet the needs of an ever-evolving post-secondary education journey, setting you and your students up for success over the long term.
They offer more flexibility, transparency and ownership over your plan, allowing you to use it whenever and however you’d like.
Withdraw your plan’s income and contributions whenever and however you want to meet your unique needs.
Contribute what you want to your child’s RESP when you want, scaling contributions to match life’s circumstances.
Strategically withdraw funds to minimize tax implications and get the most out of your child’s RESP investment.
Individual plans offer greater transparency, giving you more insights into the value of your income, grants and contributions.
Income generated from your plan is yours, even if your child does not end up getting a post-secondary education.
Individual RESPs offer a better potential for greater investment returns due to expanded investment parameters.
There are many reasons why our Family Single Student Plan (FSSP) will better serve your education savings needs.
